Foreign Policy is Hiring a Remote Account Executive

Foreign Policy (FP) is seeking a dynamic and ambitious Account Executive to join our growing group subscriptions sales and business development team. We are on pace to significantly expand our group subscriptions revenues in the coming year and are seeking motivated and determined sales professionals to support us in reaching these goals.

In this role, you will be responsible for consistently driving revenue growth by (1) identifying and cultivating new business opportunities, (2) building strategic partnerships with our customers, and (3) sustaining and expanding our existing subscription relationships.

The successful candidate will assume responsibility for our U.S. and international government portfolio, as well as additional target industries and geographies that include our Think Tank and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) accounts. Across these sectors, each customer is different and has its own distinct information requirements, use cases, and procurement approaches. The Account Executive should embrace these distinctions as opportunities for creative thinking, customer research, and value creation. To be successful in this role, you will tailor your approach to articulate FP’s value proposition to each customer.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospect, identify, and qualify potential leads and business opportunities through research, outreach, and networking efforts.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Foreign Policy products, services, and value propositions to effectively articulate them to prospective clients.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers, stakeholders, and industry contacts to drive engagement and sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales, marketing, and editorial teams to develop targeted sales strategies, campaigns, and initiatives.
  • Generate and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and pitches to prospects, highlighting the unique benefits and value of partnering with Foreign Policy.
  • Track and report on sales activities, pipeline status, and revenue projections using CRM tools and systems.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify new business opportunities and potential areas for growth.
  • Represent Foreign Policy at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote brand awareness and establish strategic partnerships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in business development, sales, subscriptions, or a related role, preferably in the media, publishing, or digital content industry.
  • Proven track record of success in meeting and exceeding sales targets, driving revenue growth, and building strong client relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts effectively.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and persuasion skills, with a customer-centric mindset and a passion for driving results.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented, able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce), Microsoft Office suite, and other sales and marketing tools is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and interest in international affairs, geopolitics, or related fields desired.

Benefits:

  • Base Salary Range: $65,000 to $85,000. Salary commensurate with years of experience.
  • Performance-based commission opportunities.
  • Flexible hybrid work policy
  • A comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance, pension, 401(k), and three weeks of vacation.
  • Vibrant and inclusive work culture with opportunities for networking and collaboration
