We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our podiatric clinic in Bakersfield, CA. The ideal candidate will assist the podiatrist with patient care, perform various clinical and administrative tasks, and ensure the smooth operation of the clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

• Prepare patients for examination by the podiatrist.
• Assist during exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and symptoms.
• Provide patients with instructions and education regarding their treatment plans and follow-up care.

Clinical Duties:

• Sterilize and prepare medical instruments and equipment.
• Assist with wound care, bandaging, and applying dressings.
• Perform routine foot care procedures under the supervision of the podiatrist.
• Administer medications and injections as directed by the podiatrist.
• Conduct basic diagnostic tests such as X-rays, if certified.

Administrative Tasks:

• Manage patient records and ensure accurate data entry.
• Handle patient inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Compliance and Safety:

• Follow all clinic protocols and guidelines to ensure patient safety and privacy.
• Adhere to OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
• Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with medical and podiatric practices.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified medical assistant program.
• Experience: Prior experience in a medical setting, preferably in podiatry, is highly desirable.
• Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
