The Foodbank of Southern California has been providing food to impoverished children, families, and seniors residing in Los Angeles County since 1975 providing healthy, nutritious food to the community’s hungry residents and to ensure that no individual goes hungry, not even for a single day.
Position Overview:
The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating various programs at the Foodbank of Southern California, with a focus on the mobile food pantry program. This role involves working closely with the Program & Product Acquisition Manager, agencies, and community partners to ensure the successful execution of events. The Program Coordinator will help oversee other programs as well as the senior brown bag program and family food box program. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about serving the community.
Responsibilities & Duties:
· Coordinate with Volunteer Manager to schedule volunteers for program events.
· Set up and oversee mobile food pantry events, including registration, distribution, and data collection.
· Gather data and demographics at events to track program impact and effectiveness.
· Maintain relationships with agencies and community partners to ensure smooth program operations.
· Coordinate with agencies to schedule and organize senior brown bag program and family food box program distributions.
· Assist in the development and implementation of new programs to address community needs.
· Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines for food distribution programs.
· Prepare reports and presentations on program activities and outcomes.
· Other duties as assigned by the Program & Product Acquisition Manager.
Required Qualifications:
· Acceptance and commitment to Foodbank of Southern California’s values, mission and vision
· Bilingual in Spanish, Khmer, or Tagalog is beneficial
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in program coordination or a similar role.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
· Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
· Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
· Ability to stand for extended periods during events.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
