Collections Specialist

Role: Collections Specialist
Reports to: Finance Leader
Compensation: TBD; Based on experience 
Location: Main office in Kaukauna

Summary: The Collections Specialist is a strong communicator that has a strong attention to deal to succeed in their daily tasks. They will be responsible for communicating with delinquent residents, assistance programs, and assist with collection of past due balances on account.

  • What you are great at: (responsibilities) 
  • Collecting, tracking, and managing delinquent accounts 
  • Properly scan, upload and file all 5 day legal notices to delinquent resident’s online portal
  • Accurately post all necessary paperwork to file an eviction
  • Basic understanding of the legal requirements as they are related to property management
  • Partnering with the legal team on any lease violations
  • Ability to create payment plans, receive and enter receipts into the system 
  • Answering phone calls from residents and helping to problem solve issues
  • Partnering with other departments on a project basis
  • Handling office tasks, such as filing, generating reports and monthly communication
  • Communicate effectively with all residents through email, phone and text to help answer questions, and diffuse situations when needed
  • Manage spreadsheets on a daily basis to ensure accuracy with scheduling timeframes
  • Utilize our system to log, track and efficiently process all documentation

  • Prior customer service experience.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Google Drive, and Power Point.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Strong problem solving skills 
  • Ability to work independently and also with a team, manage large workloads, and keep deadlines
