Overview:
Sylvan, Inc. is a market-leading, trusted automotive services contractor to Fortune 500 companies.
The role of IT Desktop Technician will be to provide hands on IT Support primarily for Sylvan offices located in Southfield and Dearborn. They will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical software and hardware issues alongside our remote Support Desk staff. They will speak with Sylvan employees over the phone, in person, or via online chat to understand, troubleshoot, and resolve technical support issues. Occasional support of remote Sylvan employees and offices, as well as work sites.
Job Responsibilities

- Support and maintain organizational systems and peripherals.
- Inventory and work with remote support on setup of new equipment rolled out to Sylvan employees.
- Hands on support as needed by direction of remote support desk staff.
- Some light network administration and occasional wiring.
- Work with IT Management to set support scheduling for proper coverage.
- Special IT related projects as corporate growth dictates
Education Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Comp TIA A Certification.
- Other IT related certifications are a plus.
Experience
- 3-5 years of basic technical support experience
- A basic understanding and knowledge of MS Office 365 and Active Directory
- A friendly and approachable demeanor with customer service in mind
- Efficient problem-solving skills and decision making.
- Ability to take direction as well as work independently as needed.
- Familiarity with Windows, IOS, and Android based operating systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD, ERP Systems, and network security are a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Will need to be able to access systems under desks and in tight confined areas.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Full operation of computer via mouse and keyboard.
- Travel is primarily between Sylvan Dearborn and Southfield office locations.
- Possible travel to local work sites as needed.
- Company growth requirements may dictate occasional travel out of state.
