FloWorks International is Hiring a HR Benefits Specialist - Houston, TX Near Houston, TX

FloWorks is a leading specialty industrial supplier of pipe, valves, fittings and related products and a provider of technical solutions to the energy and industrial sectors. Privately held company located Pasadena, Texas.

Summary of Responsibilities

Provides day-to-day human resources support and counsel to a business unit and/or functional group covering the following areas:

  • Compensation
  • Benefits
  • Employee Relations

Ensures consistent application of policies and procedures. Serves as a liaison with internal departments/divisions and/or outside organizations. The HR Shared Services supports 50 locations across 14 states, and currently at 1,000 employees. The successful candidate will have experience supporting an organization at this size or larger.

Position Purpose

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing and administering a company's employee benefit and compensation programs, from retirement plans and health insurance to life insurance and beyond.

Implement HR programs and policies including compensation, benefits, and compliance. Will Collect and analyze HR data and makes recommendations to management. They will be responsible for communicating programs to the area of responsibility.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Research, analyze, and administer healthcare plans and wellness programs, from medical and dental benefits to disability and family leave
  • Coordinate non-salary employee compensation like retirement plans, pensions, tuition reimbursement, and stock options
  • Assist with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs
  • Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments
  • Assist with the open enrollment process
  • Advise employees, answer questions, and enroll staff in benefit and compensation programs
  • Process various paperwork, especially regarding disability, FMLA absences, and employee life status changes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years work experience as a Benefits Specialist or equivalent role
  • Strong understanding of compensation and benefits policies and regulations.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific compensation and benefits trends.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the compliance and regulatory environment impacting HR.
  • Experience in HR involving compliance, auditing and regulatory matters.
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communications, presentation, interpersonal and project management skills

Autonomy 

  • Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles and practical experience.

Environmental Job Requirements

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rareoccasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
