THE ROLE: 

We are looking for a dedicated Backend Engineer with a strong foundation in TypeScript and NestJS. As a vital member of our engineering team, you will contribute to building, refining, and maintaining our backend services. Your efforts will ensure stability, performance, and reliability, while working collaboratively with the broader engineering ecosystem to promote a seamless user experience. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Contribute to the design and development of backend services using NodeJS, TypeScript, and NestJS.
• Uphold code quality standards and performance optimization.
• Develop integrations with databases, third-party services, and APIs.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with frontend engineers, data platform engineers, and product managers for aligned product development.
• Support mobile and web platforms with backend API.
• Engage in code reviews and actively join team discussions.
• Continuous Integration & Deployment:
• Assist in maintaining the CI/CD pipeline.
• Contribute to the stability of product releases and aid in resolving bugs swiftly.
• Backend Service Management:
• Participate in code and database optimization efforts.
• Implement best practices to ensure backend service security and data protection.
• Continuous Learning:
• Keep updated with the latest backend development techniques and methodologies.
• Engage in tech discussions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions within the team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

• TypeScript & NestJS: Experience in building applications using TypeScript and NestJS.
• Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem.
• Database Skills: Familiar with SQL/NoSQL databases and basic database design principles.
• API Development: Knowledge in creating RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Version Control: Familiarity with Git.
• Microservices & Serverless Architectures: Understanding of modular and decoupled systems. Experience with SST serverless framework is a plus.
• Testing: Background in unit and integration testing. Familiarity with testing tools is desirable.
• Communication: Ability to articulate ideas and feedback within the team.
• Problem-Solving: Capable of troubleshooting and coming up with solutions.
• Teamwork: Ability to work well in a team.
• Basic knowledge of performance optimization for backend applications.
• Security: Familiarity with general security practices, including OAuth and JWT.
• Eagerness to stay updated with current backend development trends.
• Openness to receive guidance and mentorship from senior team members.
