Position General Summary:

This is an intern position to help the student learn the responsibilities at FLVS under the supervision of the designated supervisor. This is a part-time, temporary position.

Essential Position Functions:

  • Assist with department functions as needed under the direction of the supervisor

  • Contribute to the overall functionality of the department and assist staff with office and facility tasks as necessary

  • Provide a high level of customer service

  • Hold all work-related information in the strictest confidence; any breach in confidence may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination

  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrates respect for others

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a High School, Trade/Tech School or College/University

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must have or working toward certification in the field of the intern position

Knowledge, abilities and skills:

  • Knowledge of basic computer operations and office software

  • Knowledge of database systems for data retrieval

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other departments, and customers in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and understand and follow verbal and written instructions

  • Demonstrative skill in attention to detail
