Department College of Medicine, Research & Graduate Programs
Responsibilities This position provides administrative and secretarial support to Med Research Administration in the Division of Research and Graduate Programs.
Provides administrative support for Med-RA Director, Med-RA Program Manager, and grants staff. Provides back-up administrative support for Division leadership tasks which may include Division travel arrangements and reimbursement, procurement, and personnel-related activities. Answer phones, coordinates office equipment maintenance, assists with submission and completion of facilities and IT requests, manages incoming/outgoing mail, and manages on-campus customer interactions. Maintains and organizes Med-RA administrative files and records.
Provides support for and assists planning of Division research events, such as Grand Rounds, the annual college Research Fair, and student research related programs and events.
Assists Med-RA Program Manager with college and departmental reporting activities, which may include investigator correspondence, data management, and quality review. Assists Program Manager with website management activities.
Coordinates office supply orders and manages supply inventory for the Division. Coordinates the Division's research presentation supply inventory and use.
Qualifications High school diploma/equivalency and two years of experience; or a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to two years.
- Experience in adhering to ethical business practices and promoting ethical behavior.
- Experience in communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
- Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Experience in maintaining accurate records and retrieving files from active or archive sources. Basic filing practices to include numeric and alphabetic systems.
Preferred Qualifications - Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations.
- Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.
- Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and etiquette.

Anticipated Salary Range Anticipated starting salary $34,500, commensurate with education and experience.
