Florida Healthcare System is Hiring a Medical Receptionist Near Plantation, FL

POSITION PURPOSE

The receptionist is responsible for managing the telephone system of the program. He/she will be responsible for taking phone messages for the staff and for maintaining communication with all staff.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

1. EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. EXPERIENCE: One year experience in an office setting

3. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: None

4. SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work as a team member and have management, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and be flexible in

relation to department needs.

  • Knowledge of Medicare Guidelines.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards.
  • Demonstrates Proficiency in Verbal & Written Communication Skills.
  • Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality Laws.
  • Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Violence.
  • Knowledge of Corporate Integrity & Compliance Program.
  • Knowledge of current utilized technology.

6. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Familiar with community resources
7. EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT

1. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Position requires work in a temperature

controlled environment.

  • 100% of the time spent indoors.
  • Potential exposure to violent situations.
  • No Potential exposure to airborne/blood-borne pathogens or other potentially infectious materials.

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION

  • Answer a multi-line telephone system courteously and efficiently

and direct calls to appropriate staff member.

  • Take messages accurately and routes them as designated
  • Meet and greets patients and visitors and direct them to

appropriate staff member.

  • Organize necessary appointments.
  • Order office supplies.
  • Work independently.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Posse good telephone techniques.
  • Act as center of communication for program, facilitating the flow

of information from outside and within the Center.

  • Receive visitors and ensures that they are appropriately accommodated.
  • Assist the administrative office and clinical team with typing,

filing, maintaining inventory of office supplies,
requisition and order supplies and distribute supplies to authorized
employees, copying, etc.

  • Protect the confidentiality of patients and the privacy of staff.
  • Use computer to type correspondence, reports and other items as

requested, ensuring that typing is accurate.

  • Note patient care and environmental issues and communicate with

appropriate staff.

  • Maintains assignment boards, bulletin boards and other

communication sources.

  • Maintain smooth delivery system of incoming and outgoing mail deliveries.
  • Ensure that all office equipment is performing properly and

arranges services when needed.

  • Maintain supplies of administrative and clinical forms, ensuring

that copies of forms are neat and up-to-date.

  • Relate to patients and staff in a friendly, helpful manner.
  • Accept and utilizes supervision.
  • Address problems noted by supervisor.
  • Perform other assignments as requested by supervisor.
  • Accept responsibility.
  • Complete all tasks with concern for work quality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
