Description
This is professional work of a varied and highly responsible nature with the Foundation for Florida Gateway College. An employee in a position allocated to this class is responsible for a variety of complex and difficult professional accounting and bookkeeping techniques. Duties require an extensive knowledge of the organization and programs under the Executive Director of Resource Development. Technical knowledge and experience in such areas as accounts payable, accounts receivables, cash control, and generally accepted accounting principles are required. Work varies widely in both subject matter and complexity and requires the exercising of considerable initiative and independent judgment.

Examples of Duties

  • Serves as the financial Controller for the Foundation.
  • Responsible for timely completion of all Foundation financial reports.
  • Responsible for maintaining controls to ensure the Foundation stays within its operating budget and the proper internal control of cash
  • Perform reconciliation of various accounts and bank statements.
  • Manages Foundation cash flow.
  • Oversees annual Fiscal Year End audit with independent auditors.
  • Serves as operations manager for the Foundation by planning, initiating, and carrying to completion, accounting, bookkeeping, and administrative activities.
  • Reconciles Fund 2 (program enhancement) invoices on a quarterly basis.
  • Allocation & Rebalancing of Endowment funds
  • CRM administrator for the Foundation.
  • Works closely with Resource Development Director to maintain and reconcilement of scholarship funds.
  • Enters Payroll for Foundation and TSIC employees.
  • Makes travel arrangements as needed and enters travel requisitions and reimbursements for travel.
  • Enters requisitions for purchases.
  • Creates Board presentations and Board reports.
  • Files IRS documents as needed.
  • Files Annual Report for Foundation with Division of Corporations.
  • Completes and files reports as needed with the Department of Education.
  • Renews FL Tax Exemption Certificate as needed.
  • Completes work orders for maintenance and repairs
  • Assists in coordination of Foundation events and functions.
  • Prepares special reports as required and maintains files and records.
  • Receives incoming mail, carrying to completion those items not requiring the administrator’s attention.

Minimum Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

Working knowledge of QuickBooks, accounting and bookkeeping procedures. Attention to detail is required. Knowledge of office procedures. Skill in spreadsheets and CRM databases. Ability to meet public. Ability to understand written and verbal instructions. Ability to organize and set priority for work to be done.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

AA degree and/or 2 years accounting or bookkeeping experience. A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related area, finance, or accounting preferred.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:

Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction).
Acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid).
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.

Works inside in an office environment.
