CDT is Hiring an Administrative / Accounting Specialist Near Lake, FL

As an Administrative / Accounting Specialist, you will provide support for the back-office operations for a fast-paced trucking company including one or more of the following functions: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Driver Payroll, Operator Settlements, among others.

Back Office experience in a trucking company preferred.

In this role you will be working on a team that handles/supports the following areas. This position may cover any of these responsibilities as needed.

  • Process billings for freight hauled
  • Process driver pay
  • Process owner operator pay
  • Conduct weekly Accounts Receivable collections
  • Handle all Accounts Payable activities
  • Reconcile bank accounts monthly
  • Provide documentation to customers as needed
  • Maintain complete and updated customer contract and rate files
  • Complete all filing and scanning of documents timely
  • Prepare journal entries and run related reports
  • Enter/Update orders in Customer Service area
  • Complete all sales tax worksheets preparing for sales tax filings
  • Download, summarize and distribute fuel report from fuel provider
  • Compile and sort documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
  • Complete special projects as requested by supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned

A successful candidate will have these qualifications:

· At least 3 yrs. General accounting experience in one or more accounting back-office functions (Accounts Payable, Billing, Driver Payroll, Operator Settlements, etc.).

· Experience in high volume environment a plus.

· General knowledge of basic accounting principles

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Decision making abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Ability to adjust priorities, multitask and meet deadlines

· Proficiency in computer skills, reporting and accounting software.

Preferred qualifications:

· Experience in back-office operations in a trucking company.

· Solid Accounting experience (General Ledger, account reconciliations, monthly closings, etc.). Could open doors to higher level responsibilities

· Intermediate or higher experience with MS Office software primarily Excel.

Education:

High school education. Post high school education preferred.
