WHAT YOU WILL DO

Flexware is looking for a Payroll Specialist that will be responsible for running payroll every two weeks. You will have experience running payroll for a mid to large size company, ideally with experience in ADP. You will also assist in other duties related to payroll, taxes, reporting, and finance.
  • Compile, enter and maintain payroll data, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
  • Maintain data quality of the payroll system by collaborating with HR or other departments to address questions or discrepancies.
  • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
  • Reconciles payroll to the general ledger.
  • Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Work cooperatively as part of a close-knit team. You are encouraged to find and recommend process efficiencies and improvements.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Closely follow standard operational procedures and requirements as outlined by the Flexware Operating System.
  • Participate and occasionally lead projects related to payroll.
  • Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required
At this time we are looking for individuals that are local to the Indianapolis office and are able to come into the office as needed. Flexware provides a hybrid work environment, but this role will need to be onsite in some cases.

WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE DONE BEFORE

Flexdogs are a rare breed of people. They come from varied backgrounds, but will have the following traits
  • 5 years of payroll processing experience
  • 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping preferred
  • Experience working with ADP WorkforceNow is highly preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
