Job Description :

HR Generalist will review payroll and manage benefits, new hire orientation, timekeeping, 401K, and general HR compliance.

Responsibilities :

  • Payroll Paylocity (2x a month) Review payroll and expenses for accuracy Review subcontractor payments Changes in 401k, benefits, hourly rates, bonuses
  • 401k Assist with Yearly compliance testing Administration : Send out yearly letters to terminated employees with balances Send out required summary plan descriptions and other 401k documents required throughout the year
  • Benefits Review bills to ensure charging employees corrent amounts through payroll Complete HSA payment via portal after each payroll Manage open enrollment contract renewals (includes getting proposals for benefits and alternatives, evaluating the changes and determine if we should keep or move benefit plans) Open enrollment process in Employee Navigator Verify all employees complete open enrollment Run payroll / Employee Navigator report to confirm benefits are correct Manage SOH, follow status with benefits company, update benefit status once decision comes through Answer benefit questions / provide information Send out yearly required compliance documents Complete yearly workers compensation audit Compute and dispense yearly medical reimbursement from carrier Add / change benefits when events happen
  • New Hire Orientation (estimating 3 new hires per year) Meet with new hire to go over new employee paperwork and answer any questions Collect all new hire information and set up new employee accounts on all systems
  • Timekeeping Create and maintain employees in timekeeping system now done in Paylocity so integrated with Payroll Sets up time charge codes Send reminders to people who have not submitted timecards in a timely manner
  • General HR Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices;

reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance i.e, currently re-writing employee handbook to meet VA and CA state laws Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials Voluntary Employee Termination Send out termination letters to employees Work with client on check out process Work with benefits on making sure benefits are ended and COBRA is sent to employee if eligible Remove access to all CUBEX systems after last day

  • Contract Support Create Contract Monthly Status Reports Perform market research on rates as requested for contract renewals Review and update subcontractors agreements (once each year)
  • This role may also involve Holiday Party Organization in fall / winter to include venue research, reservations, invitations, menu, and decorations

Qualifications :

  • 7 years of recent experience as an HR Specialist, HR Generalist, or relevant HR role
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with Paylocity preferred
  • Experience with an HRIS (client uses Employee Navigator)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, diverse, and inclusive team setting
  • Have superior attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to handle a wide range of complex and sensitive employment situations
  • Previous experience working efficiently in a virtual environment
