Accountability:
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management within the organization. The HRBP serves as a consultant to management on human resources-related issues and acts as an employee champion and change agent. This role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs, communicates proactively with the HR department, and seeks to develop integrated solutions.
Scope and Responsibilities:
Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Strategic Alignment:

  • Collaborate with leadership to understand business goals and challenges, ensuring HR strategies and initiatives are aligned.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Streamlines processes within the human resource department.
  • Provides general human resource support to General Manager, business unit Directors and the Human Resources Director.

Employee Relations:

  • Provides guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations matters.
  • Actively engages with employees on a regular basis, including weekly participation in factory meetings.
  • Participates in the investigations and provide input on resolutions on employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
  • Responds to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, programs and benefits.
  • Administers salary administration programs to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
  • Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, retirement plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
  • Contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as canteen, transportation, or relocation service.
  • Manages and/or coordinates employee engagement activities to promote a positive work environment and culture.

Talent Management:

  • Works closely with management to identify talent gaps and develop plans to address them.
  • Support the recruitment process, including candidate sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Assists in recruiting, scheduling interviews, tests, provides input for employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation and onboarding to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Assists in the administration of performance review program, succession planning tools and starter interviews to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.

Performance Management:

  • Assists in the implementation and oversight of performance management processes.
  • Provides coaching and support to managers in addressing performance issues.
  • Learning and Development:
  • Collaborates with leaders to identify training needs and facilitate the delivery of training programs.
  • Supports career development and succession planning initiatives.
  • Coordinates, assigns, and monitors required training sessions for current and new employees.
  • Compliance:
  • Ensures compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintains and assists in the administration of time administration, payroll, invoicing and records of benefits plans participation, such as insurance, 401k, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Conducts regular audits to assess compliance in HR processes.
  • Identifies and supports legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Prepares human resources reports and assists with audit requests.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders
  • Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Interpersonal Skills - Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; Maintains confidentiality; Listens to others without interrupting; Keeps emotions under control; Remains open to others' ideas and tries new things.
  • Technology – Knowledge of Microsoft programs including, but not limited to, knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365, SAP.
  • Oral Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Demonstrates group presentation skills; Participates in meetings.

Education/Experience:

  • Associates degree in human resources or related field.
  • Two to three years related experience in human resources field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • SHRM or PHR certification preferred but not required.
