JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Human Resources Assistant
FLSA: Full Time Non-Exempt
The following Job Description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. NOTE: This position reports to the HR Manager/Benefits Manager and does not supervise others.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Human Resources Assistant will:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, DUTIES AND ABILITIES:
· Strong computer/typing skills.
· Strong analytic skills, ability to analyze data, and solve problems.
· Knowledge of and a commitment to team performance.
· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing in English.
· Ability to take care of customer needs while following company procedures. Ability to handle situations with the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
· Knowledge of customer service standards, expectations and procedures. Accepts responsibility and is accountable for actions. Builds strong working relationships with all employees.
· Has ability to think, reason, and use all other available resources to solve problems or recommend solutions.
· Performs work accurately and thoroughly. Has regular and consistent attendance.
· Skill in the use of computers and related software applications, preferably with a PC (Windows-based) operating system such as Microsoft Office, and proficient with Google email and Google docs.
· Proficient with general office equipment, i.e. phone, computer, printer, copier, fax, scanner, etc.
· Skill in organizing resources while establishing timelines and priorities. Requires minimal supervision.
· Ability to analyze and interpret HR related data, reports, statements and/or projections.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce.
· Ability to foster a cooperative and safe work environment.
· Knowledge of federal, state, and local HR laws pertinent to the company.
· Monitor and maintain employee information and files, including accurately inputting employee data.
· Able to assist with organizational training and development programs.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred;
· Acknowledgement of and adherence to all Company policies and procedures as contained within the Fisher Auto Parts Employee and Driver’s Handbooks.
· Possession of a valid driver's license is a requirement for this position.
· Submission of a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report.
· Must satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug test.
· Maintain acceptable/consistent attendance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
· Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted;
· Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, reach, lift, carry, bend, kneel, squat, and stoop; Also required to climb, push/pull, balance, crouch or crawl, talk, speak, and hear.
· Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
· Must have considerable mobility, and able to stand and/or sit for long durations of time.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This position will be a Full Time Non-Exempt position during the summer months (May-September). The work schedule will be Monday-Friday with the hours between 8am-5pm and range between 30-40 hours per week depending on workload.
Please Note: The position may continue as a Part Time Non-Exempt position following the summer depending on the needs of the Human Resource Department.
