Job Title: General Manager

Reports To:Regional Director

Location:Menifee, CA

Salary Range: $80-101k

FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage willalsobe premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

JOB SUMMARY

To be a believer in and be an active supporter of the community vision and philosophies and FirstService Residential's commitment to client, staff and community. As a result of job performance to be responsible for community harmony; organizational progress, employee retention, and the advancement of the Association in terms of its community values and quality of life.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.

  • Must be literate and articulate in written form in order to prepare correspondence.
  • Must be able to handle pressure and deadlines related to the job.
  • Must work effectively with co-workers, customers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; listening to and objectively considering ideas and suggestions from others; keeping commitments; keeping others informed of work progress, timetables and issues; addressing problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions; addressing others by name, title or other respectable identifier, and; respecting in the diversity of our workforce in actions, words and deeds.
  • Has a minimum of five years of successful community management experience and at least four of those years responsible for a staff of no less than five individuals.
  • Is committed to continual learning as evidenced by attendance at seminars, industry programs, either as an attendee or as a guest speaker.
  • Displays strong written skills, so as to be able to have appropriate documentation as directed to create particularly in the area of resident community and community values.
  • Directly interact with the Facility Administrator, Architectural Review Committee, other committees and the designated Board of Directors within the Association governance model for the purpose of advisement and ultimate implementation of Board directives.
  • Display a working knowledge of the governing documents for the purposes of initiating additional opportunities within the appropriate legal structure and causing implementation for the good of the community.
  • Possess budgetary knowledge and control for the purpose(s) of executing programs within the Community.
  • Display a community posture that well represents the vision of the association from inception.
  • Create, or cause to be created, a documented procedural program (written) that will direct the activities of the association as it interacts and relates to all activities undertaken.
  • Be well spoken so as to instill confidence in the homeowners that reside within the community as well as the public that may interact through designated programs.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Technologically oriented.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Executive decision-making capabilities.
  • Possess budgetary/finance administration and controls.
  • Strategic planning capabilities.
  • Public charisma as evidenced by proven leadership skills.
  • Has a proven track record working with Volunteer Committees and elected or appointed Board(s) of Directors.
  • Technologically oriented.
  • Business/management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates good client interaction and visibility.
  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Comprehension and attainment of all areas of the following skills: financial, written, verbal, negotiations, thoroughness, procedural comprehension and compliance.
  • Excellent problem solver; demonstrates ability to use creative alternatives.
  • Assertive, PR oriented.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Talking and hearing occur continuously in this position.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word.
  • Possess excellent supervisory skills with recent experience as a supervisor.
  • Possess strong verbal and written skills.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Must be mobile enough to move around throughout the venue, including facility programs and outside events, standing for long periods of time.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Must possess CAI designation.
  • Previous community management experience required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Proficient in English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Excellent general math skills.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Sound reasoning skills required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid California driver's license and state-mandated vehicle insurance required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Must be able to lift 25lbs.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.
  • Must be mobile enough to move around the office in order to make copies, send mail and faxes.

WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics are normal office conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Consistent and regular attendance required.

Schedule is dependent based on business needs.

Hours over and above 40 will occur, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Require some driving, must have a valid driver's license
