FirstService Residential is Hiring a Director of Operations Near Canton, MA

As a Director of Operations of Property Management, you'll be responsible for providing day to day and long-term executive leadership to a group of communities in the New England Market. Work closely with Market President, Boards of Directors, Developers, and homeowners to enhance brand awareness and elevate community standards.
Your Responsibilities:
  • Relationship management with staff, client, & community contacts.
  • Ensure oversight of all association board reporting, committee meeting attendance and agenda setting
  • Relationship building with board members who provide leadership to the communities managed
  • Strategic and regular communication with board members for the purpose of providing information and influence to gain consensus
  • Retention of existing accounts including driving the contract renewal process.
  • Oversee and assist with retention efforts and revenue stream for Lifestyle business unit
  • Work through, influence and understand the financial and operational goals and objectives for each client including but not limited to: developer transition, capital improvement projects, financial challenges, Board goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for financial management of Lifestyle portfolio including monthly financial review, budget development, invoice approvals, influence, development and understanding of current annual budget
  • Grow property portfolio by driving and participating in marketing and sales efforts.
  • Team building to unite staff within property portfolio and create a cohesive working environment.
  • Performance management of all direct reports and other team members.
  • Influence and mentor Community General Managers and Portfolio Managers who provide oversight to indirect reports, as well as provide influence and mentoring to support personnel.
  • Develop and lead team through regularly held team meetings.
  • Stabilize the retention of staff members and develop career paths for those who desire growth
  • Enforce the use of policies, tools and programs by staff in the day-to-day management and operations and ensure proper adherence throughout business unit.
  • Support the roll out and implementation of company & business unit initiatives and strategies.
  • Actively share learning that comes from your business unit experience with the entire organization as strategically identified.
  • Use of company tools, policies, and philosophies in the job, and integration to the team and staff.
  • Participate in external industry events and organizations that create value, opportunity, and relationships with FirstService Residential.
  • Act as high-level driver for the Net Promoter Score Survey for property business units.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Business or related field from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ten (10) or more years of demonstrated leadership related to Large Scale communities, Community Development, Asssociation Management or contract driven services.
  • Proficient level of computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and use of graphics.
  • Proven experience handling multiple projects simultaneously, and working in an environment, which requires flexibility, innovation, superb customer service skills, and organization
  • Experience delivering effective presentations and training material to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, leases, regulations or documents with a similar degree of complexity.
  • Demonstrated and proven problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to travel approximately 50%.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Broad-based leadership/management experience required
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, judgement and decision-making abilities are necessary.
  • Proficiency in computer programs like Microsoft Office, Outlook and Windows required.
  • Ability to work with sensitive and/or confidential information.
What We Offer:
As a full-time exempt associate, you will be eligible for full comprehensive benefits to include your choice of multiple medical plans, dental, and vision. In addition, you will be eligible for time off benefits, paid holidays and a 401k with company match. Occasional travel may be required to attend training and other company functions.
Compensation: $130,000 -$170,000 Annuallyplus Bonus
