JOB DUTIES:
- Contributes to quality efforts at the Bank and contributes to teamwork by providing support in the department and throughout the organization.
- Maintains excellent customer service which includes prompt acknowledgment of customer, friendly and courteous disposition, and professional image.
- Completes customer transactions such as cashing checks, receiving deposits, distributing withdrawals, processing transfers, accepting loan payments, redeeming Savings Bonds, and completing stop payments.
- Informs customers of the bank about products and services features and benefits; sells products and services based on customer needs; and refers customers to appropriate staff, when necessary.
- Follows regulations and security procedures; abides by all BSA requirements; completes necessary documents; and maintains confidentiality.
- Verifies customer signatures, account ownership, and identification; and utilizes teller terminal to obtain account numbers and balances and to research transaction questions.
- Maintains scanner and scanner equipment, scans and forwards teller items, and ensures that standardized scanning procedures are followed.
- Verifies cash received from vault and balances the teller drawer against the teller terminal daily.
- In the absence of the Head Teller; researches, answers and resolves member and teller problems; schedules teller work hours; conducts cash audits; and assists tellers in balancing as required.
- Performs vault duties; orders and verifies coin and currency received from bank; prepares outgoing coin; disburses change orders to tellers; and balances the vault daily as required.
- Monitors surveillance equipment and reports any problems to head teller or branch manager.
- Responsible for safety deposit box procedures including opening and closing of the safety deposit boxes.
- Balances and maintains ATMs for the branch.
- Assists in the training of new tellers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Attendance is a vital function of this position.
- Must have a high school degree or equivalent.
- Two years previous Teller or cash handling experience desirable.
- Must be accurate and detail oriented.
- Must be able to lift approximately 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work effectively independently and with others.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with members, staff, and outside contacts.
- Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations, and identify members.
- Must present a professional image.
