Description
The Associate II, Credit handles member servicing for credit related issues, investigates and responds to credit bureau disputes and manages credit reporting data.
Primary Responsibilities :
Investigate and respond to credit bureau disputes received via E-Oscar and / or submitted directly to the credit union in accordance with the FCRA
Answer in-bound calls that are related to credit bureau issues and questions
Partner directly with the credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion and Innovis) on dispute resolutions
Communicate investigation results to members via phone, mail and / or email
Assist with validating the monthly credit reporting file for accuracy and integrity
Maintain current knowledge of FCRA and Metro II Guidelines
Identify gaps in department processes and procedures, recommending improvements to leadership
Participate in department projects and initiatives as needed
Experience and Education Requirement :
Minimum Education : High School Diploma
Minimum 2 years’ experience in the financial services industry or in a credit bureau dispute / reporting position
Experience in complaint resolution, bankruptcy, loss mitigation, foreclosure or fraud is strongly preferred
General understanding of loan contracts including APR, simple interest calculations and default provisions required
Basic knowledge of financial industry regulation requirements; demonstrated understanding of the FCRA required
Ability to read and interpret credit bureau reports is preferred
Demonstrated effective time management skills and the ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment
Strong business communication skills; able to write / speak clearly and professionally for a variety of audiences
Proven ability to professionally handle sensitive documents
Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills with an excellent attention to detail
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Target Compensation in Hillsboro, OR : $19.71 - $21.63 annual bonus
