The BI Analyst II, Credit Risk develops data, reporting, models, dashboards, and complex analyses in our Consumer, Mortgage, and Commercial lending portfolios. This role is responsible for collaborating with lending teams and leadership to continually analyze the effectiveness of the criteria First Tech uses to evaluate credit worthiness. The BI Analyst II will have the ability to interact across all levels of the organization as well as operate independently to develop data driven insights to effectively monitor and mitigate credit risk.

Job Duties

• Develop credit risk scoring models, including predictions of probability of default (PD), loss given default (LGD), exposure at default (EAD), and weighted average life (WAL)
• Create and ensure cleanliness of datasets using an array of methodologies, by collating data from multiple sources, for use in internal and external credit risk models
• Build credit risk monitoring and trend analysis dashboards
• Synthesize complex analyses and modeling results into actionable insights for senior leadership, committees, and business units
• Use advanced SQL/R code skills to create and produce risk reports on a regular cadence
• Process and manage monthly committee reporting including, but not limited to, Credit Risk Committee
• Operate third party models to produce loss forecasts and stress tests
• Draft and maintain documentation of processes and models
• Partner with Enterprise Data team to develop and maintain data views
• Keep informed of Lending program changes by effectively partnering with Lending team
• Collaborate with Lending leaders to analyze effectiveness of underwriting criteria
• Meet regularly with business units to review credit risk trends and impacts to profitability
• Participate in the training and orientation of new BI Analysts

Essential Skills

• Minimum 4 years of experience in an analyst role, preferably in the financial services industry
• Minimum 2 years of experience developing highly complex code, including large dataset wrangling, financial modeling structures, and custom reporting/visualizations
• Understanding of Basel II credit risk concepts
• Proficiency with a data visualization/dashboarding tool (such as Tableau)
• Advanced knowledge of an analytical/quantitative tool (such as R or Python)
• Advanced SQL skills and understanding of relational databases
• Excellent verbal and written communication skill
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated effective time management skills and the ability to work independently
• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Math or related quantitative field or equivalent work experience

Location: Hillsboro, OR 97124 | (HYBRID)

Target Compensation in Hillsboro, OR: $97k - $105k annually annual bonus
