We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator/Laborer to join our CPG team at our York,

PA recycling facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a forklift

to handle the movement, sorting, and processing of recyclable materials.

Additionally, they will assist in various labor tasks to ensure the efficient operation

of our recycling facility. The Forklift Operator/Laborer will play a crucial role in

maintaining safety standards, organizing materials, and contributing to the

sustainability efforts of our recycling operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Safely operate a forklift to transport recyclable materials within the recycling

plant.

2. Load and unload materials from trucks, conveyor belts, and sorting equipment

using the forklift in a timely and efficient manner.

3. Sort and segregate recyclable materials according to type, size, and condition.

4. Ensure all materials are handled and stored properly to maximize recycling

efficiency and minimize waste.

5. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on the forklift to ensure it is

in proper working condition.

6. Follow safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.

7. Assist in other labor tasks such as baling, shredding, and cleaning as needed.

8. Maintain cleanliness and organization in designated work areas.

9. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve recycling targets and

objectives.

10. Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to coordinate tasks

and address any concerns.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a forklift operator in a recycling plant or similar

environment.

2. Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.

3. Strong commitment to safety and environmental sustainability.

4. Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely and efficiently.

5. Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting.

6. High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with operating machinery used in recycling processes (e.g., balers,

conveyors, shredders).

2. Knowledge of recycling industry regulations and best practices.

3. Familiarity with recycling plant operations and procedures.

4. Physical fitness and stamina to perform labor-intensive tasks.

Working Conditions:

This position primarily operates in a recycling plant environment, which may involve

exposure to dust, odors, and fluctuating temperatures. The Forklift Operator/Laborer

will also work around heavy machinery and moving equipment. Personal protective

equipment will be provided, and strict adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
