Fiber Optic Installation Technician
As a Member of the Operations Team, you will install, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic cables and
associated equipment. Perform fiber optic splicing, termination, and testing to ensure optimal network
performance. Collaborate with the engineering team to implement network designs and configurations.
Conduct site surveys and assess requirements for fiber optic installations. Diagnose and repair issues related to
fiber optic infrastructure. Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all installation and
maintenance activities. Document work activities, configurations, and equipment specifications accurately.
Experience Needed:
o Knowledge of telecommunication practices and principles.
o Knowledge of the electronics and apparatus needed to support advanced fiber technology.
o Proven experience in fiber optic installation, splicing, and troubleshooting.
o Familiarity with OTDR, fusion splicing, and optical power meters.
o Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to fiber optic installations.
o Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
o Ability to operate various office equipment such as computers, various software programs and telephone
systems.
o Ability to identify and resolve problems effectively.
o Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments.
o Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Qualifications and Education
1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications a plus.
2. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
