As an Collector / Asset Recovery Specialist II, you'll play a vital role in safeguarding the financial well-being of our credit union. Your responsibilities encompass contacting delinquent accounts, assessing financial situations, and taking decisive action to bring accounts current or recover assets. Additionally, you'll provide guidance to other collectors, manage repossessed collateral, and ensure compliance with legal requirements. Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
π Member Engagement: Reach out to delinquent accounts via phone, mail, and electronic communication channels, analyzing financial circumstances and implementing appropriate strategies to resolve delinquencies.
π Workout Solutions: Evaluate accounts for potential workout options or collection extensions, adhering to established requirements and policies.
π Collateral Recovery: Initiate repossession proceedings when necessary, manage the disposition of repossessed collateral, and file bankruptcy claims as required.
π Legal Compliance: Prepare and submit necessary documentation to attorneys for legal action against delinquent members, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and credit union policies.
π Trend Analysis: Monitor trends in loan underwriting contributing to delinquencies and charged-off loans, providing insights to management to support strategic decision-making.
π Performance Management: Maintain charged-off and delinquent accounts within acceptable levels, maximizing asset recovery efforts and minimizing potential losses.
π Operational Support: Communicate effectively with management, keeping them informed of operational issues impacting collection activities and providing proactive solutions.
π Punctuality & Professionalism: Demonstrate reliability by consistently adhering to scheduled hours and treating members with respect and dignity in all interactions.
Performance Measurements:
Experience: Possess three plus years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating proficiency in asset recovery and collections.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
