Foodservice Category Manager

The Foodservice Category Manager is responsible for oversight of Fill-n-Chill’s foodservice. The role is involved with all foodservice activities – development, implementation, marketing, procurement, product quality, preparation, customer service and sales. The Manager will work closely with members of marketing, sales, and operations to ensure continuity of product offerings and to achieve company goals. The position will develop consistent processes across locations, coach and train employees, and implement changes necessary to meet or exceed sales targets, budgeted expenses, margin and profit goals.

Responsibilities:

• Supervises and stewards all Fill-n-Chill foodservice operations.

o Works directly with corporate office staff on developing foodservice-specific procedures and programs to track and monitor performance.

• Develop, document, and maintain best-practice foodservice policies and procedures.
• Mentor and train Store Managers, Assistant Managers and Associates in foodservice processes, policies and procedures.
• Works with the corporate office and store management to design and oversee a comprehensive training program for all facilities.
• Monitors all foodservice purchases / inventory and enforces product criteria and quantities.
• Evaluates and sets retail prices for all foodservice offerings.
• Ensures foodservice operations meet and exceed all Health Department codes and/or requirements.

o Addresses and resolves all foodservice compliance issues.

o Knows, follows, and enforces company foodservice procedures to ensure a clean, healthy foodservice environment.

• Supports foodservice decisions – including equipment purchases, equipment repairs, and foodservice layouts / construction needs.
• Proposes an annual budget to management.
• Attends all foodservice meetings (internal and with vendors), as directed.
• Assists in resolving customer inquiries and complaints by providing friendly and competent customer service.
• 80% of time will be spent on-location with store team members (subject to change as needed).

o Conducts foodservice location visits on a regular basis (weekly).

• 20% of time in office (subject to change as needed).
• Responsible for new location start-ups and foodservice staff training.
• Reports for work in a timely manner when scheduled.
• Develop and achieve revenue, margin, and profit targets for all Fill-n-Chill foodservice activities.
• Develop and achieve foodservice budget plans.
• Direct, perform, and communicate foodservice product changes, pricing, positioning, while developing procedures and best practices for operational execution.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be over the age of 21.
• Food Handler’s permit or Serve Safe Certification.
• Responsible Beverage Service Training to sell tobacco and alcohol (completed on-site upon hire).
• Minimum of five years’ foodservice experience recommended.

o Must have the ability to read, follow, and implement budget controls.

• Must be able to work cooperatively with other team members.
• Able to work special events, weekends, and holidays (as needed).
• Current valid driver's license and be insurable to drive.

o Ability to travel to store locations (as needed).

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (incl. Excel) and Company specific software applications.
