Fifty/50 Management Group Inc is Hiring a Shift & Events Supervisor (FOH) Near Chicago, IL

The Fifty/50 Restaurant is currently hiring a FOH Shift Supervisor. We are looking for friendly and caring Servers or Bartenders, who enjoy being around people and working with a supportive team and are looking for a launching pad to a Management position within our group. The Fifty/50 Restaurant Group is a fast-paced establishment with great food, craft cocktails and wines. We are a fun place to work and a great place to start a new career. Candidates will be responsible for working serving and/or bartending shifts, floor manager shifts and assisting the Management team with the overall operation of a single restaurant. A Shift Supervisor will oversee their section as well as assisting their fellow co-workers on the floor. They will strive to gain in-depth knowledge of spirits and craft beer to ensure their Guests are engaging with them in a fun way! They will work with the Managers and Chefs in setting the direction of the business in day-to-day operations as well as a plan to grow the business, drive sales and manage costs. Must have the ability to run a smooth and efficient shift and be able to open and close the restaurant.

Essential Functions (Other duties will be assigned as needed):

  • Take beverage orders from Guests
  • Learn the names and personally recognize our regulars, while actively developing your own regulars
  • Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with our standard drink recipes
  • Record drink orders accurately and immediately after received into Aloha
  • Accept Guest payment, process credit card charges and make change (if applicable)
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of food items, ingredients and allergens in dishes
  • Clear and reset tables
  • Present menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverage
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas including tables, couches, benches and ledges
  • Receive and serve food orders to Guests
  • Assist the restocking and replenishment of restaurant inventory and supplies
  • Manage working with regularly updated Covid standards of cleaning and sanitizing
  • Interact with, direct and Supervise Employees on a daily basis in a fair and dignified manner
  • Promote teamwork among co-workers and Employees
  • Be hands on with all Front of House positions to ensure smooth and efficient service
  • Authorize and control comps/voids for all service personnel
  • Follow up with Employees and co-workers to ensure completion of assigned projects
  • Identify, address and document individual Employee performance problems according to standard operating procedure
  • Discipline and/or terminate Employees as necessary according to The Fifty/50 Restaurant Group procedures
  • Assign Employee workstations
  • Uphold applicable policies and requirements of employment laws
  • Become proficient in all job functions of Front of House Employees
  • Have thorough understanding of and practice all Fifty/50 Restaurant Group Employee Handbook policies and procedures, Employee benefits and company philosophies
  • Complete projects as assigned in a timely manner
  • Create atmosphere including lighting, music and temperature levels
  • Address Guest issues effectively and courteously on an as needed basis
  • Use tact and good judgment when dealing with Guests and respond to their needs with patience and courtesy
  • Ensure adequate evening preparation levels based on business levels
  • Perform a pre-shift line check to ensure quality of all items
  • Perform a shift "walk through" in order to asses staffing, maintenance, cleanliness, zoning and any special needs
  • Complete opening sanitation checklist, assign sanitation projects to hourly staff and follow up with Employees to ensure their completion
  • Maintain food quality standards including consistency and presentation

Other Functions:

  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant Manager or immediate Supervisor
  • Comply with health and food safety standards, restocking items and cleaning

Physical Functions:

  • Ability to stand/walk a minimum of 8 hours or as needed
  • Must be able to exert well-paced and frequent mobility for periods of up to 8 hours or as needed
  • Be able to lift 30 pounds frequently
  • Will frequently reach, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate and key in data
  • Work in both warm and cool environments
  • High levels of noise from music, Guest and Employee traffic
  • Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
  • Must be able to work wearing personal protective equipment (face mask, gloves, etc.)
