Job Title: Director of Proposal Management

Job Summary:

Take charge of your professional growth while playing a pivotal role in the dynamic proposal development lifecycle. The Director of Proposal Management will be pivotal in coordinating proposal activities, conducting quality assurance reviews, compliance and supporting the proposal development lifecycle.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Diving into RFPs, uncovering requirement and evaluation criteria
  • Crafting compliance matrices
  • Driving proposal success by scheduling tasks and tracking progress.
  • Championing final reviews, ensuring technical, management, and resume elements align
  • Guiding proposal reviews, orchestrating color team sessions and refining documents
  • Collaborating closely with teams, gathering vital info and aligning with proposal goals
  • Taking the helm in producing proposals, from planning to White Glove review
  • Decoding Government RFPs, crafting outlines and matrices that hit the mark
  • Thriving under pressure, juggling deadlines and demands
  • Maintaining organization and precision, meeting strict document standards
  • Driving Shipley processes, fueling our business development journey
  • Speaking the language of government, military, and engineering, bringing invaluable insight to the table
  • Developing and executing a comprehensive proposal strategy aligned with organizational goals, ensuring proposals are in line with the company's vision and objectives
  • Overseeing the end-to-end proposal process, including planning, coordination, writing, and submission, ensuring adherence to deadlines and compliance with requirements
  • Continuously improving proposal processes and templates to increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Developing and implementing proposal strategies to win new business opportunities
  • Coordinating with Finance regarding proposal budgets, tracking proposal-related expenses, and optimizing costs to maximize return on investment
  • Managing team resources effectively, assigning tasks according to strengths and workload capacity
  • Leading and motivating a cross-functional proposal team, providing clear direction, assigning tasks, and fostering collaboration to ensure all team members contribute effectively to the proposal effort
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to both senior and junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development
  • Conducting regular performance evaluations and providing constructive feedback to team members to enhance their skills and performance
  • Implementing quality control measures to review and refine proposal content, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with client needs and proposal guidelines
  • Facilitating communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners, fostering solid relationships and addressing any concerns or feedback
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks and challenges associated with proposal development, proactively addressing issues to minimize disruptions and maximize the likelihood of successful proposal outcomes
  • Evaluating and refining proposal processes, tools, and strategies based on lessons learned and industry best practices, driving continuous improvement and enhancing the organization's competitiveness in the marketplace

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 10 years of demonstrated experience in proposal compliance management within the GovCon industry
  • Proven track record of success in navigating complex RFP requirements and facilitating compliant proposal responses
  • Exceptional proficiency in project management, with a keen ability to strategize, plan, and execute proposal activities effectively
  • Strong understanding of GovCon business development and proposal writing processes
  • Thorough familiarity with federal government, military, technical, and engineering concepts, terms, and acronyms
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders

Work Setting and Environment:

  • Monday - Friday, normal working hours
  • Work is to be performed remotely
