Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is Hiring an IT SPECIALIST Near Huntsville, AL

Position: IT SPECIALIST, GS 13

Division: IT Infrastructure Division (ITID)

Unit: IT Business Management Section

Location: Huntsville, AL

Working Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm (Flexible)

Salary: GS-13 $102,267.00-$132,945.00

Full Performance level: GS-14

Number of Positions Available:

Duration: Full Time/Permanent

Selected candidates may be offered a 25% recruitment incentive if eligible and will be required to sign a service agreement.

Additional selections may be made from this announcement to fill positions within the same division when the position includes substantially the same duties, responsibilities, and qualifications.

Mission Statement:

The mission of the FBI is to protect the American People and uphold the Constitution of the United States.

Major Duties:

  • Oversee a wide variety of budgetary duties for the IT Construction Advisory Office (ITCAO); to include but not limited to, preliminary budget estimates, edit and strengthen justifications to assist in the formulation, and approval of the unit's budget, budget enhancement requests and the execution of the annual budget.
  • Oversee a wide variety of contracting duties for the ITCAO; to include but not limited to, research/development, analysis/recommendations and execution of existing and new contracts.
  • Oversee the ITCAO Cybersecurity team that supports the Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements, including documentation and security controls, as well as work with the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)and Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) to maintain system security.
  • Develop, analyze, and perform a variety of ITCAO business operations functions; to include but not limited to, coordinating work, asset management/inventory, developing and maintaining Enterprise/operational systems (i.e. data modeling, full lifecycle analysis/management, etc.); tracking/tasking due outs and priorities and is familiar with the full Microsoft Office suite of tools.
  • Provide advice and recommendations to management on issues involving IT business operations/management, planning/execution, policies/procedures, etc.
  • Prepare and present briefings to Division, and other FBI, Senior Leadership and Executive Management related to unit activities as required.
  • Work closely with the Business/Data Owners to analyze, test and implement system enhancements as required.
  • Develop and implement complex and multi-faceted project planning methodologies (i.e. Waterfall, Agile, etc.) as appropriate, and relational, to the project's size, scope, cost, complexity, and overall impact to the FBI.

Specialized Experience (SE):

GS-13: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

  • Experience presenting technical and business information and delivering analysis to internal and external organizations/stakeholders.
  • Experience conducting requirements analysis, resource allocation, project costs, deliverable tracking, schedule and financial data monitoring, and reporting.
  • Experience managing complex programs or projects related to information technology and/or application development.
  • Experience reviewing requisitions, purchase orders and/or spending in order to advise managers of the impact the changes may have on funding.
