About The Role:
As a Buyer, you'll play a crucial role in the heart of our operations, ensuring the continuous flow of high-quality ingredients and cutting-edge packaging materials that bring our confectionery products to life. This pivotal position requires a deep understanding of the confectionery industry, exemplary negotiation skills, and a strategic approach to supplier management. You will ensure the timely sourcing, purchasing, and delivery of ingredients and packaging, optimizing costs while maintaining our product quality standards.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers of confectionery ingredients and packaging based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
- Develop and maintain robust relationships with suppliers, negotiating to secure the best prices, quality, and delivery terms
- Plan and execute the procurement of ingredients and packaging in line with production schedules and inventory requirements
- Utilize ERP systems for accurate placement and management of purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies
- Manage Material Resource Planning (MRP) activities to maintain optimal inventory levels of ingredients and packaging
- Seek opportunities for cost savings and negotiate volume discounts and alternative sourcing options to optimize procurement costs
- Work closely with Quality Assurance teams to establish ingredient quality standards and address any quality issues with suppliers effectively
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration with R&D, and supply chain teams to align procurement activities with broader company goals
- Lead initiatives to evaluate and onboard new suppliers, fostering innovation and sustainability in our supply chain
Recipe For Success:
- 4 years of experience in procurement within the CPG industry, preferably with a focus on confectionery or food products
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related field, or equivalent experience preferred
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to secure favorable terms and pricing agreements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with proficiency in MS Excel
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards applicable to confectionery ingredients
- Proficiency in using procurement software and ERP systems, particularly Netsuite, for purchase order management
- Experience with Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems and inventory management practices
- A strategic thinker with meticulous attention to detail, capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Agile and adaptable, with a passion for innovation and a drive to pursue continuous improvement in all aspects of procurement and supply chain management.
