Farnsworth Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in our Greenwood Village (Denver Tech Center) or Colorado Springs, CO office. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Team. This individual will be responsible for bringing plumbing design (that we are willing to train) and Revit capacity to the Team while being exposed to a variety of clients including Federal, higher education, healthcare, industrial, commercial and high-tech clients. This position will also provide an opportunity for this individual to lead teammates over time.
Job Activities:
  • Multi-project responsibilities for plumbing and HVAC system engineering and design. Project building types include healthcare, commercial, industrial and educational facilities.
  • Actively engage in and assume responsibility for code research and application.
  • Develop preliminary schematics and final designs for building systems.
  • Perform calculations for piping and plumbing, HVAC load calculations, equipment selection and layout.
  • Coordinate with other production teammates and external consultants.
  • Prepare accurate plumbing and HVAC system construction drawings and specifications.
  • Equipment submittal reviews and construction administration.
  • Perform site investigation work in existing buildings to determine scope of work and system design constraints.
  • Interface with other disciplines, clients, and contractors.
  • Assist in maintaining project design budgets and schedules while pursuing quality.
  • This role is one that can be entrepreneurial and is intended to grow into more responsibility via mentoring from more experienced engineers and is supported by a great team of engineers and drafters.
  • Role reports to an engineering manager, who will also provide mentoring and training opportunities to help you grow.
Specific Requirements include:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • 0-4 years of professional experience in plumbing and HVAC design.
  • Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite is desired.
  • Strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment, willing to take on more responsibility over time.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualification include:
  • EIT certification preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with Revit and/or AutoCAD
