Farmingdale State College is Hiring a Lecturer - Psychology (Child Development Associate) Near Farmingdale, NY

Farmingdale State College invites applications for a lecturer position in Psychology to support the Child Development Associate (CDA) Micro credential program. The CDA micro credential provides students with a pathway to become an early childhood educator. The successful candidate is expected to have a Master-level degree in either Psychology or Early Childhood Education and extensive experience working in childcare centers. The successful candidate will also have college-level teaching experience. Lecturers teach 15 contact hours per semester and are required to hold 5 office hours. Additional responsibilities include advisement, departmental service, as well as curriculum review and development.

Job Requirements:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master-degree in Psychology or Early Childhood Education.
  • One-Year of college teaching experience.
  • Two-Years experience working in an early childhood center.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience as a CDA PD Specialist.
  • Experience as a Childcare Center Director.
  • Bilingual.
Additional Information:

This is a 10-month UUP faculty position.

  • For the first 10 working days, beginning Thursday, November 30, 2023, and ending Wednesday, December 13, 2023, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.
  • CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Friday, December 29, 2023
  • SALARY: $65,000 $3,087 in downstate location pay = $68,087 Total Compensation.
  • ANTICIPATED START DATE: January 22, 2024
