Farmingdale State College invites applications for a part-time (50%) lecturer position in Psychology to support the new Direct Support Professional (DSP) Microcredential program. The DSP microcredential supports the academic and career success of Direct Support Professionals across New York State. The successful candidate is expected to have a Master-level degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology. The successful candidate will teach 3 contact hours per semester and will receive 3 credits of release time to provide wrap-around services for students enrolled in the microcredential. Additionally, lecturers are required to hold 2.5 office hours. Additional responsibilities include advisement, departmental service, as well as curriculum review and development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master-Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
• Two-Years of College-Level Teaching.
• Experience working as a Direct Support Professional.
• Bilingual.

This is a 10-month (Part-Time 50%) UUP faculty position.

• For the first 10 working days, beginning Thursday, March 14, 2024, and ending Wednesday, March 27, 2024, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.

• SALARY: $32,500 Total Compensation.
