Family Service Assoc Brand is Hiring a Manager I, Financial Empowerment Near San Antonio, TX

Job Title:  Manager I, Financial Empowerment

Location:  The Neighborhood Place / 3014 Rivas St / San Antonio, TX 78228

Schedule:  Monday - Friday 9am - 6pm (some work on Saturdays may be required)

The Manager I, Financial Empowerment Center is responsible for the administration and management of the Financial Empowerment and VITA programs, and is the key leadership liaison with direct service staff, stakeholders and agency’s senior leadership team, while ensuring that services provided are in alignment with the Social Determinants of Health through a trauma informed care lens as defined by the agency. This position is responsible for delivery and oversight of all contracts and corresponding deliverables, budget management, community representation, and collective impact in the assigned area or areas of responsibility. The Manager I is the day-to-day operations monitor providing leadership, supervision, and mentoring to staff to ensure that service recipients receive effective services that are customer service friendly and delivered with measurable outcomes.

Job Functions:

  1. Supervise and direct assigned staff to facilitate effective and responsive services to clients, contractors, agency collaborators and community stakeholders. Duties include ongoing supervision, personnel reviews and evaluations, recommending agency-funded professional development activities, and approving staff time sheets and mileage/travel reports.
  2. Monitor all financial empowerment services and activities carried out in the name of the agency to ensure they are client-centered, culturally competent, and in accordance with agency and stakeholder requirements.
  3. Establish financial empowerment program goals and objectives, and monitor such on a monthly basis relative to the achievement of weekly/monthly/quarterly benchmarks related to contract budget, program goals and objectives; and take appropriate action, when indicated, to ensure uninterrupted compliance with agency and stakeholder requirements.
  4. Work with the Director(s) to refine goals, service design, objectives, performance measures, tracking tools, and monitoring reports as necessary and/or requested.
  5. Develop procedures and establish a review process relative to the assigned deliverables in partnership with assigned staff while utilizing sound management and team building practices to ensure that all deliverables/requirements are achieved as required.
  6. Communicate the rationale, methodology, and goals of the agency and assigned program(s) to stakeholders, community groups and collaborators using agency-approved written materials and conduct oral presentations and media appearances, as requested.
  7. Routinely review quality assurance outcomes to ensure on-going compliance with agency and/or contract requirements, and conduct timely and necessary follow-up using corrective action, when necessary, with appropriate staff.
  8. Interview and select candidates for approved agency vacant positions, and present to the assigned Supervisor/Director for hiring consideration.
  9. Assist the Director(s) in designing and implementing the agency’s system to collect, report, and analyze staff productivity, financial empowerment program performance, and client outcome data with excellent knowledge of any specialized software to document and track outcomes and productivity.
  10. Assist the senior leadership team in preparing applications, documentation, and presentations to secure grants and contracts.
  11. Participate in recruiting, interviewing, orienting, and placing interns and volunteers as requested by the senior leadership team.
  12. Maintain good relationships with stakeholders (including current and potential clients, community and coworkers), focusing on providing excellent and culturally sensitive customer service and presenting a positive image of the agency in all community and stakeholder interactions.
  13. Maintain a working environment which encourages mutual respect, promotes respectful and congenial relationships between employees and is free from all forms of harrassment.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned, including presentations to community groups and organizations, in accordance with the agency’s “team” philosophy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training/Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in human services, behavioral health, social sciences or related field required; Master’s degree desirable.
  2. Bilingual preferred. Good organizational skills and ability to critically think and multi-task.
  3. Two (2) years previous experience in directing/supervising staff and contracts in the achievement of agency and stakeholder goals.
  4. Two (2) years previous experience working in the non-profit human services environment to include low- income, minority, multi-problem families is highly desirable.
  5. Fluent in English and Spanish (read, write, and speak) desirable.
  6. Staff will be required to submit proof of their vaccination status or may request to be exempt from vaccination due to a religious and/or medical accommodation.
  7. Certificate or license, as applicable, by the appropriate State agency as a qualified practitioner.
  8. State of Texas vehicle operator’s license and proof of liability insurance.
