Family Health Center is Hiring a Development Associate Near Worcester, MA

Position Summary: 

The Development Associate is a crucial member of the development team, supporting Family Health Center of Worcester’s fundraising operations. The Development Associate will be responsible for data entry and database management, provide administrative departmental support, and support donor research and special projects. As a member of the development team, this role will work with key stakeholders across all donor constituencies and serve as a focal point for our relationships with supporters and partners.

Family Health Center of Worcester is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center that provides care for more than 30,000 patients annually in over 77 languages. This position requires the ability to respect and support the health center mission and the diversity of the community we serve.

This position will operate on an in-office or hybrid schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Commitment to providing health care to families in a medically underserved community.

2. Willingness to be flexible in the development of new methods of health service delivery.

3. Ability to deal with sensitive information in a highly confidential manner.

4. Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with patients, families, visitors, co-workers, health care professionals, funders and other regulatory agencies.

5. Bilingual in English and another language appropriate to the health center’s patient population preferred, but not required.

6. Ability to function independently with minimal supervision, and to plan, coordinate, and carry out those tasks necessary to meet the job responsibilities.

7. Awareness of resources available within the health center to accommodate the needs of patients.

8. Commitment to providing cost conscious, fiscally responsible, timely, efficient, effective, safe, patient-centered, culturally competent, equitable, and participatory health care.

9. Processes personal health information in accordance with FHCW HIPPA policies and procedures.

Program Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

------Development:

•Assist with execution of donor communications, such as special appeals, and event materials.

•Assist with the preparation, implementation, and coordination of all special events.

•Provide assistance to the Development Committee of the Board and other Board Members involved in advancement activities.

Database Management:

•Oversee and maintain Family Health Center’s donor database.

•Cultivate methods/protocols and confirm compliance and consistency in order to maintain donor records.

•Process incoming gifts and in-kind donations.

•Maintain accuracy of gift donations in collaboration with the Finance department.

•Create and send acknowledgment letters to donors in a timely manner.

•Enter and update donor contact information with appropriate constituent codes and attributes.

•Run donor, mailing list, and other database reports as needed.

Administrative:

•Provide administrative and operations support to the Development department such as maintaining the inventory of the department’s supplies, answering donor’s inquiries via phone call and email, assistance with filing and other administrative tasks as needed.

•Manage the department’s calendar ensuring all deadlines are recorded and met.

•Attend and participate in organizational and departmental meetings as necessary.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years relevant experience preferred.

High school diploma and 5 years relevant experience may be substituted for Bachelor’s Degree requirement.

•Strong computer literacy

•Ability to multi-task

•Experience with donor database systems a plus.

•Experience with project management software (Asana, Monday, Smartsheet) a plus.
