Groundskeeper

Falkenberg/Gilliam & Associates, Inc. (FGA) is seeking a Groundskeeper to join our property management team in Palm Desert, CA. FGA is an affordable housing property management firm that specializes in affordable housing for seniors and multi-families.

The Groundskeeper position will oversee 3 multi-family properties owned by the Palm Desert Housing Authority.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the daily repair and upkeep of the properties
• Clean the grounds and remove litter/trash
• Responsible for the care, maintenance, and inventory of all supplies and equipment
• Responsible for maintaining the required property uniform and ensuring a professional appearance and attitude
• Be aware of and always operate within OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety policies
• Responsible for a thorough knowledge of management company policies and property community policies
• Other projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Property Manager and Maintenance Tech

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma preferred
• Minimum 2 years working in the apartment industry with related experience or training
• Driver’s license required
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to speak effectively
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish helpful
• Must be dependable

Work Conditions & Environment:

This position involves extensive standing for long periods, stooping, kneeling, light lifting, and carrying. The primary location is outside and could include slippery or uneven walk areas, exposure to dust, insects, animals, weather, heat, humidity, and the public.

Pay is $19.50 per hour
