Fairview Health Services is Hiring a VP Service Line Strategy and Business Development Near Minneapolis, MN

Overview:

Responsible for leading the strategic planning and business development processes to support the growth and development of primary care and specialty care programs and services for the health system. This position will work closely with senior team members in primary and specialty care, the acute care hospitals, marketing and finance to develop clear strategic priorities for primary and specialty care and assist in the development of detailed business plans that are financially and operationally sustainable while also meeting growth objectives. The VP will also serve as a proactive change agent to represent the primary and specialty service lines in the changing health care environment and as a spokesperson by articulating a clear vision for continued success in the evolving primary and specialty care marketplace. This position leads the development of collaborative relationships, affiliations, and/or joint ventures, as well as explores and develops opportunities for growing the business through the development of innovative business ventures, payor strategies, and physician practice expansion. This position interfaces with metro area and out-state health systems and provider groups to develop strong business relationships and partnerships where appropriate. This position will direct outreach activities in support of strategic business objectives. This position will work with primary care and specialty service line leaders and acute care leaders to evaluate and implement business opportunities ensuring that the initiatives are consistent with and supportive of Fairviews mission, vision, values and strategic plan.

Responsibilities/Job Description:
  • Design and implement a business development strategic process across primary care and specialty care to meet the strategies and goals of the health system, acute care hospitals, and the market.
  • Create and continuously update a primary and specialty practice-wide focused strategy for successful market positioning and business development process to advance the strategic direction of the health system and to increase market share and market presence.
  • Partners with Primary Care, Service Line and Acute Care leaders to brainstorm creative ideas for programs that meet the strategic direction for the organization and builds the framework for identification and evaluation of clinical program opportunities.
  • Identify and pursue strategic partnership opportunities with health systems, payers, private practice groups, and community partners to increase market share, patient capture, and brand awareness.
  • Oversee the analysis and development of business opportunities, health system relationships and payor strategies.
  • Directs the development of standard and ad hoc market assessments to project specific needs including assessment of market dynamics, opportunities and threats, volume forecasts, competition and other market trends impacting MHealth Fairview volumes within the assigned service lines.
  • Incorporate ideas for innovative health care delivery, including program design, reimbursement methods, integration and affiliation options, contract design, location, and other variables.
  • Collaborate with primary care, service line and acute care leadership to develop clinical strategic business plans for primary and specialty care that clearly document the practices growth plans, recruitment, capital and staffing needs, and methods to measure achievement.
  • Develop business proposals for decision making related new services and provide recommendations regarding feasibility of service creation to executive leadership. Collaborate with finance in developing the financial analysis to evaluate feasibility of plans and proposals.
  • Evaluate progress to plan and realign tactics as needed if off target.
  • Work with Marketing to create and implement plans and tactics that support business plan goals.
  • Leads the physician outreach team and directs the development and implementation of a comprehensive outreach plan to support primary care and specialty care priorities
  • Lead the provider recruitment planning and provider recruitment request approval process for the specialty service lines.
  • Manages multiple projects and prioritizes time and resources accordingly to ensure time commitments are achieved.
  • Acts as a key collaborator with Providers and leaders from Fairview, independent physician groups, University of Minnesota Physicians, and University of Minnesota.
Qualifications:

Required

Education

  • MBA, MHA or other relevant Masters degree program

Experience

  • 10 years of progressive health care experience including 5 yrs overall management responsibility for Strategy and Development of clinical operations
