job purpose:

Lead the approval, onboarding, and new product/line commissioning activities for new and established contract manufacturing sites. Work with contract manufacturing teams to establish and ensure regulatory compliance for dairy based and LACF product lines. Support new line and product extensions including the establishment of manufacturing quality requirements, conduct site training, and provide governance for food safety and quality requirements. Monitor key product quality metrics to ensure food safety, product quality, and customer satisfaction.

responsibilities:

  • Establish and oversee contract manufacturing food safety and quality requirements in alignment with regulatory and industry programs. Establish risk-based governance and provide site monitoring as needed to ensure product safety and quality requirements are met.
  • Provide onsite quality support during new manufacturing supplier onboarding, new line commissioning, and line extension activities. Support new line and product validation efforts as needed.
  • Develop and oversee product hold and release program for manufacturing sites. Work with site to establish and support CAPA process for non-conforming products.
  • Provide onsite support of quality and efficiency improvement initiatives including partnering with regulatory agencies to maximize production efficiencies, reduce waste, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide oversight and governance to the Co-man production to ensure that Manufacturing is within the Quality and Safety processes set out and aligned.
  • Provide support in the development of key quality programs as required by Co-Manufacturer Expectations Manual.

skills/qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, engineering or related preferred
  • Extensive experience in a quality assurance environment required
  • High proficiency in computer technology and manufacturing systems operations
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • In-depth understanding of dairy regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work efficiently in a team environment

working conditions and physical requirements:

  • 40-45 hours as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Travel 30-50% with potential for extended assignments during onboarding of new sites.
