Fairfield Inn & Suites is Hiring a Beverage Manager Near Gulf Breeze, FL

Summary

The Beverage Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the Beverage department. This role is responsible for creating beverage menus and specials, supervising and delegating responsibilities among staff, organizing schedules and activities, setting objectives and guidelines, monitoring inventories to ensure an adequate supply of beverages, and coordinating with suppliers to purchase orders, while building positive business relationships in the process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Always approaches all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner by maintaining a positive demeanor.

- Promotes a positive and caring work environment by addressing and resolving any conflict in a calm and poised manner.

- Engages and creates a positive experience for guests.

- Develops beverage programs, which includes what types of drinks to offer, which brands of liquor to use, pricing, and other menu aspects. This includes creating wine lists, beer selections, and cocktail items.

- Designs beverage menu and manages the marketing of new products and specials.

- Orders and maintains adequate supplies of all beverages and non-drink bar items, such as snacks, napkins, mixers, and garnishes.

- Prepares and serves beverages as needed.

- Makes drink suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences.

- Manages bar area and makes sure that all products, drinks, and cups are readily accessible and available for use.

- Manages all FOH positions, including scheduling, developing, and coaching employees.

- Leads bartenders in everyday functions and assists with inventory control.

- Utilizes POS system to accurately charge customers, track revenue reports and ensure timeliness of food and beverage.

- Participates in the selection, design, development of new POS system and is in charge of weekly inventory.

- Reviews financial transactions such as the budget and payroll records to ensure the weekly expenditures are accounted for and authorize.

- Manages the property for potentially unsafe situations and overindulgence and ensures that no alcohol is consumed by minors by checking IDs and responding appropriately when guests violate state laws or regulations.

- Maintains a friendly attitude, attending all guests in an efficient and prompt manner.

- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus, and promotions.

- Provides guests with information about facilities, attractions, and activities in or outside the property.

- Organizes special functions that require beverage services.

- Stays current and up to date with all hotel’s special events.

- Projects a professional manner with an emphasis on hospitality and guest service.

- Handles guest complaints and solve problem to the degree possible.

- Performs any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

2. Minimum 2 years of bartending and customer service experience required, hospitality industry preferred.

3. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, or scheduled form.

4. Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English in order to communicate with guests and team members.

5. Knowledge of reservation and POS systems.

6. Ability to work with computers and good knowledge of operating software preferred.

7. Must be able to multi-task and be detail oriented.

8. Must be a team player.

9. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high degree of autonomy.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employer is regularly required to use hands, and is required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, bend, and walk for long periods of time. The employee will be required to reach, with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. This position demands physical and mental health.

- The position occasionally requires the employee to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell. The employee will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull, and work a flexible schedule including long hours, holidays, and weekends. Must be able to move continuously during work hours and to lift up to 50 pounds.

- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
