The Director of Allocation will lead the allocation and store planning teams to ensure the most profitable allocation of company inventory. They will develop strategies/processes that support Faherty Brand's merchandise and collaborates with internal business partners to maintain quality, consistency and improve allocation execution. Overseeing the plan, forecast, and allocation processes for Faherty Brand to ensure company financial objectives are achieved. The Director of Allocation will provide strategic and analytical support to merchandising through all phases of product life cycle (pre-season and in-season).

This role is based in our HQ in Manhattan

What you'll do:

  • Create annual allocation plans and strategies for full price retail, wholesale and digital – annual, seasonal, monthly and weekly level and location level planning
  • Drive allocation strategies and provide recommendations that support the monthly OTB
  • Present weekly/monthly allocation highlights for DTC – identifying risks and opportunities
  • Define and own the inventory "Open-to-Buy" to deliver longer term, insightful plans to help inform financial and merchandising plans seasonally.
  • Lead process of developing, updating and enhancing tools, and process that supports allocation planning pre-season, in season and hind-sighting
  • Lead the store planning process via store attributes both existing and new along with partnering with real estate to plan and attribute stores under consideration.
  • Accountable for leading positive organizational change in people/process/systems as it relates to the allocations team – identifying new systems and technologies as well as processes to ensure that we optimize sales and margin and manage inventory effectively
  • Develop short, mid and long-range allocation strategies in support of the seasonal product plans
  • Capitalize on allocation, inventory, and margin opportunities across all channels: optimize and deliver product at the right time, the right place, and the highest margin. Accountable for depth of inventory, in-stock levels, inventory utilization and margin maximization.
  • Build constructive and effective relationships with cross-functional business partners (ex. Planning, Merchandising, Retail, Marketing and Supply Chain) to define, develop and execute inventory, merchandising and operational strategies to drive revenue channel growth initiatives and improve store/site efficiency and customer experience

What you'll have:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or Master's in merchandising, business, finance, or appropriate field
  • 5-7 years retail planning and/or allocation experience
  • Experience with a variety of go-to market models (wholesale, direct-to-consumer, retail, digital, etc.)
  • Strong collaboration skills combined with ability to listen and problem solve
  • Ability to balance brand with business while relentlessly focusing on the consumer
  • Trend understanding with industry awareness and knowledge of contemporary brands
  • Strong background in apparel and allocation planning to help guide decision making throughout the entirety of the product life cycle
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail
  • Project management skills with ability to work collaboratively with all functional areas while being able to work independently
  • Goal oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to eloquently express opinions and influence
  • Ability to synthesize business performance into key highlights, root cause analysis and action plans
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams/projects with tight timelines in a hyper growth, dynamic environment
  • Understanding of the global marketplace

We aim to pay competitively for our size and industry. The base salary range for this position is $135,000 - $165,000 per year, but we will consider location, skill level and experience to determine the final offer. In addition to salary, we offer all Faherty employees an annual bonus opportunity as well as benefits and perks, outlined below.
