SUMMARY: Facilities Resource Group ("FRG") in Comstock Park, Michigan, a nationwide turnkey provider of COMMERCIAL TANKLESS WATER HEATING solutions, seeks onsite Director of Business Development with seasoned background in commercial plumbing and tankless water heating systems design, installation and service. Demonstrates astute level of business savvy, deep industry knowledge and a natural, self-driven passion to win.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Director of Business Development positions the Company for long-term growth and success through the generation of new leads and sales, by procuring and nurturing business relationships. The ability to learn and grow with the business and to adapt and flex accordingly is absolutely imperative. Gleaning knowledge will be an ongoing concerted focus area during initial period.

Once fully-acclimated, the Director of Business Development seeks, identifies and secures opportunities to increase overall Company sales, profit, or value, and stimulates continuous development of the business, while keeping the best interests of the Company and the Customer at the forefront.

Works with other members of management to ensure key target objectives are aligned with the Company’s capabilities, as well as its mission, vision and values. Exhibits strengths in areas of strategic planning, resource allocation and demand planning, change management and market factors pertinent to self-performed, self-mitigated, commercial mechanical plumbing work.

Represents the Company with utmost integrity and professionalism in all dealings and is expected to travel on behalf of Company, acting as a representative in customer meetings, at conferences or trade shows, as well as visiting Company job sites. This role occasionally audits the work performed by the Company, to ensure Company and department KPI’s are being set, managed, and met consistently, or adjusted as necessary, and ensures the Company is meeting or exceeding standards in all areas of compliance.

Demonstrates a powerful, take-charge attitude when appropriate, but is often able to achieve desired results through creative navigation of thoughtful discussions, assertively addressing collaborative challenges in a manner which gains others’ trust and results in stakeholder buy-in or agreement. The Director of Business Development is a self-driven, dynamic critical thinker who possesses an almost innate inclination to innovate, motivate, grow, and achieve the ultimate goal of BIGGER, FASTER, STRONGER.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Onsite role: Must reside within 60-mile radius of Grand Rapids, Michigan* *Limited Relocation Assistance available – requires time-based, signed agreement;
  • National travel up to 50% of the time. Fluctuates based on the needs of the business;
  • Ability to jump in and lead performance of team’s full-scope commercial field work;
  • Strategic development of company objectives and actualization of new market potential;
  • Generation of sales in potential new markets and expand business in current markets;
  • Identifying and implementing measures to set, track and meet/exceed objectives;
  • Building and strengthening the brand and market presence, loyalty and awareness;
  • Conducting market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities;
  • Developing and delivering presentations, marketing campaigns, reports, etc;

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Licensure: Master Plumber and/or Mechanical Contractor license required.
  • Multi-state and/or multi-craft licensure STRONGLY preferred;
  • 10 years of commercial plumbing experience and 5 years mechanical experience ideal;
  • Read, interpret, create and revise mechanical blueprints and/or piping ISO's - etc;
  • Expert-level foundational understanding of tankless water heating systems functionality and commercial sector plumbing market, documented by updated resume;
  • Reside within 60 miles of, or relocate to, Grand Rapids, Michigan, region within Company's designated time frame, regardless of potential relocation assistance;
  • Willingness and ability to perform hands-on physical work and lift up to 75 pounds;
  • National Travel – up to 50% of the time, based on business needs. Typically via air;
  • Completion of standard background, drug screen and onboarding requirements;

Preference will be shown to candidates who meet dual Licensure criteria, with 15( ) years of combined plumbing and commercial mechanical backgrounds, documented by a work history rich in longevity and proven success in B2B relations.
