Job Summary:

The focus of the HR Business Partner is making connections with people; motivating and inspiring them to achieve results. The work involves driving toward results by enrolling the commitment and buy-in of others. While the job requires strong initiative and self-direction, results are only achieved with and through people. Under the guided direction of the Divisional Human Resources Manager (DHRM), the HR Business Partner will focus primarily on providing people-centric, HR support to the assigned division in alignment with business-driven HR strategies and action plans. The role requires a high degree of "selling" of ideas and policies within the organization. The environment is fast-paced and results-oriented. The job has various tasks and is dynamic and changing; these tasks may include talent acquisition, employee relations, employment law compliance, performance management, development, compensation, and benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Foster trust and confidence among employees in the execution of HR policies.
  • Collaborate with the HR team and Leadership to champion and accelerate a culture of excellence in which people feel engaged and inspired to deliver top business results.
  • Partners with HR Team and Branch Leadership to determine employee development needs and implement appropriate training in alignment with those needs.
  • Conducts investigations based on workplace concerns received or identified. Recommends appropriate resolution to ensure effective employee engagement and application of business expectations.
  • Participate and consult on the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, offer development, and hiring of qualified job applicants. Collaborates with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Consults with DHRM on compensation issues regarding employment offers, merit increases, and both commission and bonus programs necessary to continue to attract, retain, and motivate employees.
  • Assist in development and promotion of programs for effective onboarding of new and existing talent.
  • Partners with people at all levels of the organization to communicate the company's values, strategy, policies, procedures, and applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • Assists employees in understanding the Company's benefit programs.
  • Process employee changes in HRIS system.
  • Manages the offboarding process, including but, not limited to: completing exit interviews, submission of required documentation, processing of unemployment claims with third party vendor, and attendance at unemployment hearings, as required.
  • Partner with divisional teams to develop functional career paths and identify opportunities to incorporate training and development programs within Fabick Cat's broader talent strategy.
  • Administers organizational changes at the direction of the DHRM.
  • Participate in the evolution of HR programs, such as recruiting, retention, compensation, benefits, and Learning & Development.
  • Oversees follow-up activities stemming from employee roundtables and feedback sessions to drive positive change and two-way communication within the organization.
  • Assists in the development and delivery of coaching and Corrective Action Plans to ensure the company is providing a fair and equitable opportunity for individuals to make positive change.
  • Employee file maintenance -- scanning/storage of various employee documents into the Human Resource file system (digital or physical, as appropriate).
  • Administers and oversee performance management and merit increase process.
  • Guide leaders on the application of local, state, and federal legal requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
