Fabco is Hiring a Quality Assurance Technician Near Woodburn, OR

FABCO is a full-service steel fabricator, looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our fast-growing team in Woodburn, Oregon. Our state-of-the-art facility, combined with our highly skilled team and technological capabilities, allows us to perform a wide range of projects, from small to large. Candidate should be adaptable, detail-oriented, and have a robust knowledge of structural steel detailing, including working knowledge of steel material and cut lists.

Quality Assurance Technician Responsibilities:

  • Initiate on-going audits and inspections to ensure the work performed meets or exceeds standards, issuing corrective action when needed.
  • Ensure all QC documentation is completed and retained to meet requirements.
  • Inform production management of any issues that will affect production, quality, or safety.
  • Performing dimensional inspections on steel pieces after assembly, inspecting welding preparations and tack welds, reporting, and addressing non-conformances, updating inspection progress in the system, interpreting plans and standards, and calibrating inspection tools.
  • Assist with on-site customer inspections.
  • Ability to understand and interpret blueprints, use measurement tools and techniques to verify geometric tolerances of fabricated parts and assemblies.
  • Coordinating root cause analysis of defective products and presenting the findings to production manager.
  • Performs regular safety inspections to ensure compliance with safety program policies and procedures.

Quality Assurance Technician Qualification:

  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques and standards.
  • At least 10 years experience in a steel fabrication company performing QC tasks.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, keen attention to detail
  • Knowledge in welding, metallurgy, steel fabrication, and reading blueprints. Ability to interpret codes, drawings, and specifications, maintain dimensional tolerances, and use measuring tools.
