EXTERNALSITE is Hiring a Special Loans specialist Near Fort Mill, SC

Position SummaryRoundPoint services non-traditional loan products or terms that require maintenance throughout the loan life cycle. These products/terms include, but are not limited to: Adjustable Rate Mortgages (ARMs), Buydowns, Balloons, SCRA protections, and HELOCs. The Special Loans Specialist sets up loan terms on the system of record and performs periodic maintenance to ensure the continued accuracy of loan servicing activities. The Specialist monitors deployment statuses of homeowners in the military and protects servicemembers to the fullest extent available under the law.The Specialist reads loan agreements, identifies the corresponding loan terms, and configures RoundPoint’s system of record to correspond with the agreements. The Specialist researches loan terms escalated for review and confirms the correct system configuration. The Specialist performs quality testing to ensure loans have been accurately set up and processed. The Specialist remediates any issues discovered in testing or setup and communicates progress with management and other stakeholders.Primary ResponsibilitiesSet up and maintain SCRA, Balloon, HELOC, and ARM loansProcure government military status data and set up military protections for SCRA-protected customersEstablish and maintain loan-level ARM system data, including but not limited to:Review the loan agreement(s)Identify the correct ARM indexSet up the ARM terms within the system of recordMonitor for interest recalculations throughout the life of the loanMonitor and update master index and ARM ratesDetect incorrect calculations and rate changesPerform manual calculations to ensure accuracy of system-generated interest rate dataOther responsibilities and duties as assigned QualificationsRequired:Bachelor’s degree required; exceptions will be made based on experienceAbility to research loan documents, analyze their meaning, and determine appropriate system codingAccounting and math skillsAdvanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office products, specifically excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookup)Detail and goal oriented, strong organizational skills, and professionalismAbility to work in and adapt to a fast-paced environment with a fluctuating volume of work Desired: Experience monitoring interest rates or market trends (bonds, indices, equities, etc.), administering SCRA guidelines, and/or servicing nontraditional mortgage productsKnowledge of mortgage and consumer loan servicing including GSE, Federal, and state guidelines1 years of mortgage servicing experienceRoundPoint’s Employee Value Proposition:Grow.
