KEY DELIVERABLES

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE:

  • Install all electrical equipment and material per the project’s requirements, National Electrical Code, and the requirements of state and local authorities. Ensures the quality of workmanship for these installations.
  • Applies and trains to all codes, operating standards, practices and procedures.
  • Experience studying work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine materials requirements and installations procedures.
  • Understand and adhere to contract documents.
  • Coordinate code requirements and inspections with local AHJs.
  • Has the ability to order and track materials for jobs.
  • Has the ability to do advanced paperwork such as change orders, completing T&M sheets, etc.
  • Is provided with a cell phone to respond to service calls (pages, group pages, phone calls, etc. from both internal and external customers).
  • Performs additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed.
  • Actively seeks knowledge of FMI processes and has experience and exposure to the following:
    • Pre-Job Planning
    • Short Interval Planning
    • Long-term Planning
    • Post Job Reviews
  • Responsible for handling customer contact of both internal and external customers and responding to their needs promptly – meeting their requests with a “can do” attitude.
  • Take steps to ensure customer satisfaction, if not should be able to search out issues and conveys to supervisor(s).
  • Promote positive customer relationships.
  • Recognizes the customer’s needs are most important.

PREFABRICATION:

  • Organizes the materials, labor, and equipment necessary for timely installation per the construction schedule. Ensures the quality of workmanship for these installations.
  • Actively seeks new construction methods or Prefab opportunities and equipment applications that will lower construction costs or reduce construction time.
  • Stays abreast of new materials, design concepts, and construction techniques in order to assure the most economical design and a timely completion schedule for each project.

SAFETY:

  • Responsible for the safety and well-being of jobsite. Coaching others on the importance of safety including team members, GCs, customers and other trades.
  • Evaluates JHAs and TBTs for relevance and offers immediate feedback.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to zero accidents and every accident is preventable through training, risk prevention, and continuous improvement.
  • Always adheres to all safety policies and practices. Wears steel toed shoes, hardhat, gloves, and safety glasses on all job sites.
  • Ensures the safety of team members by taking direct preventive measures, conducting effective safety meetings, and ensuring all related standards, rules, and laws are understood and followed.
  • Coaches others on the importance of safety, including team members, General Contactor’s, customers, and other trades.
  • Possesses a good understanding of applicable OSHA regulations for construction projects.
  • Serves as a coach to others regarding the importance of safety, including team members, General Contactor’s, customers, and other trades.
  • Ensure compliance with all job safety standards established by Suburban Electric and all regulatory agencies. Examine and inspect work progress (site audits), equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum of five years of experience.
  • Must possess a state Journeyman’s License.
  • NFPA70E training.
  • Complete OSHA 10.
  • ARC Flash Training.
  • This position may require team members to drive a company vehicle. If so, team members must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record that allows the company to ensure such individuals are under the company’s insurance policies. Team members must also carry auto liability insurance. The team member will be subject to the Company’s policy concerning company vehicles.
  • Capable of leading a small crew (2 – 5 technicians/electricians) effectively.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Good troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other team members of the organization.
  • Must possess basic knowledge in the use of a PC and Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Preferred:

  • Must be certified in CPR and First Aid or ability to obtain certification shortly after employment start date.
