Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and talented Application Developer to join our dynamic IT team. As an Application Developer with a focus on back office, you will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and implementing software solutions that meet business needs. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in IBM i/ISA Power System, RPGLE, SQL RPGLE, SQL, CL, CLLE, and DB2, with a minimum of 5 years of programming experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Software Development:
   • Develop, code, test, and implement software applications on IBM i/ISA Power System.
   • Utilize RPGLE, SQL RPGLE, SQL, CL, and CLLE to create efficient and effective solutions.
   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
2. Database Management:
   • Work with DB2 databases to design, implement, and optimize database structures.
   • Perform database maintenance tasks, including data migration, backup, and recovery.
3. Integration and Support:
   • Integrate applications with other systems and technologies to ensure seamless functionality.
   • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for existing applications.
4. Documentation:
   • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all developed applications.
   • Ensure that code is well-documented and follows best practices.
5. Technological Awareness:
   • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in application development.
   • Recommend and implement improvements to existing processes and technologies.

Skills or Technical Knowledge:

1. Education:
   • Bachelor’s degree in a related computer field from a recognized 4 year university or relative equivalent experience required.
2. Experience:
   • Minimum of 5 years of programming experience with a focus on IBM i/ISA Power System.
   • Proven expertise in RPGLE, SQL RPGLE, SQL, CL, CLLE, relational database design and development (IBM DB2).
   • Expert level experience with application design, RPGLE, SQL RPGLE, SQL, CLP, CLLE, relational database design and development (IBM DB2).
   • General Knowledge of XML, C, and JavaScript.
   • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
   • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
   • Object oriented programming as well as experience development/customization in Accounting/Financial and HR/Payroll applications (Oracle EnterpriseOne ERP preferred).
   • Familiarity with GoAnywhere MFT is a plus.
   • Candidate must be self-sufficient and have good English oral and written communications skills.
