Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Model documentation and recommendations
- Communicate with key stakeholders to facilitate discussions about data modeling Develop DDLs for physical implementation and views Data mapping and data discovery Analyze source system data using profiling tools Translates and transforms business requirements into data models (conceptual, logical and physical) Track technical debt in the data design and recommend approaches to minimize and reduce technical debt Synchronize models with physical implementations Adhere to existing naming and design standards as well as recommend new standards Design data models in data modeling tools (e.g. ERWin) Produce data model documentation using leading modeling tools at various levels including story, subject area, and full data model Work Work proactively and independently to address project requirements and articulate issues/challenges to reduce project delivery risks Work with business and application/solution teams to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual/logical/physical data models Lead and/or participate in data model reviews with various stakeholders Evaluates database and data and develops the data model appropriately
- Minimum of 1 year experience in modeling in an analytical environment Minimum of 5 years of experience with Logical Design demonstrated with large scale, multiple business solutions across divisions or enterprise Minimum of 5 years prior experience as a data analyst and data modeler Document target state end-end data flows and representations Ability to create and maintain conceptual data models, high complexity logical and physical data models Experience with SQL Bachelor's degree in information science, computer science, engineering, or related discipline Experience in Agile Frameworks (SAFe) Experience with WrWin, Hackoldae, or ER/Studio Strong analytical skills Ability to translate business requirements to technical requirements Financial Services experience a plus Comfortable working in ambiguity Experience as Data Modeler on OLTP relational and data warehouse projects Understanding of emerging technologies, and their associated impact on enterprise environments
Call Notes:
- Plan to standardize critical / high value data sets across the organization, a lot of remodeling of existing data sets, a lot of governance, standardizing key data sets to avoid duplicates.
- Will help C1 in their journey to Machine Learning, standardized, will be given data to build a more robust Client to trust data and the results.
- Already completed 2 data products, will develop more data products this year
- 2 needs for data molders
- Routine activities, understanding data, work with business / stakeholder / SME to understand the data, meaning of the data and transform into ,meaningful metadata, model the data structures, build / implement the model, optimize the data, a lot of collaboration with the enterprise to approve the data, influence the enterprise guidelines. New strategy that was launched last yr, a lot of strategies are still needing to be determined, data profiling, SQL, snowflake, postgres, DynamoDB, great communication skills, problem solving skills, familiar with the delivery of best practices, Agile,
- Mid Sr level role with 5 -10 yrs of experience
- Top skills: SQL / Traditional / modern data warehouses Snowflake / PostGres, AWS, able to understand what data means
- Interview: hoping to knock it out in 1 round
