THE ROLE

In cooperation with the General Manager and Beverage Director, the Head Bartender is responsible for most things that pertain to the cocktail bar including overseeing the bar program and the bar team as well as serving and assisting guests in a warm, accommodating, and professional manner. They must actively embody Experimental standards both in interaction with fellow team members and guests. Experience, knowledge of mixology, top presentation, ambition, zero pretension – this is what we are looking for in our bar team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Creating exceptional cocktails for the guests.
• Knowing the cocktail menu and classic cocktails as well as having an understanding about the products used.
• Act as a leader during service.
• Working with Beverage Director and GM on sourcing items for menus.
• Collaborating with the Beverage Director and bar team on perfecting recipes for cocktails
• Overseeing the bar prep schedule and training.
• Spearhead training of new bartenders
• Enforcing quality control of all cocktails served over our bar
• Inventorying all liquor and prep items on a weekly basis
• Working with the Beverage Director on weekly ordering to ensure the bar is appropriately stocked.
• Completing a monthly inventory of all liquor
• Setting up, and assisting General Manager in enforcing sidework sheets for the bar
• Assisting in setting up daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules
• Setting the tone for a fun but efficient work environment behind the bar
• Create a working relationship with brand reps
• Help ensure that health and safety rules are applied and complied and that the bar and its equipment are all maintained.
• Create and uphold SOP’s for organization of bar, well set up, drink specs and bar service to maintain high standard and consistency.
• Work with management in the monitoring of costs and margins.
