EXP’s Infrastructure & Transportation Practice provides comprehensive planning, design and construction engineering services. With a unique multidisciplinary team approach, we have a history of successfully delivering complex infrastructure projects. We are currently looking to grow and enhance our project management capabilities and are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Project Manager for our Towson, Maryland office. 

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Manage a wide variety and complexity of highway related projects.
  • Maintain project schedules and manage project financials including profit/loss responsibility and targeted direct margin.
  • Coordinate staff required for internal project teams, including directing, coordinating and reviewing work by others.
  • Perform design computations, oversee report, plan and specification development and sign and seal construction documents as necessary.
  • Oversee and approve invoicing/billing and manage project scope and secure change orders as necessary, chase A/R and provide internal reporting as may be required.
  • Work with other senior staff within Infrastructure & Transportation and other practices groups, as necessary, to execute project delivery.
  • Act as EXP’s representative with the client and subcontractors during project, negotiations, execution and close-out.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for project pursuits.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.

What your experience looks like

  • BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 10 years of progressively responsible relevant experience.
  • Licensed PE in Maryland.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead diverse project teams with a strong track record of project delivery from both a technical and financial perspective.
  • Significant Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) project management experience.
  • Experience writing proposals for MDOT SHA design contracts.
  • Experience managing both planning and design related projects.
  • Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) experience a plus
  • Knowledge in CADD delivery issues and workflows and proficient in MS Office software.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and technicians.
  • Strong leadership, project management skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to mentor engineering staff.
  • Business development and client relationships desirable.
  • Industry participation in professional societies desirable.
