Your work environment at EXP 

EXP is currently seeking a Principal Civil Engineer for its New York City office. In this role you will be a part of the infrastructure group in the Northeast market. We are an entrepreneurial, multidisciplinary firm of approximately 3,500 professionals across North America with a history of successfully delivering some of the most complex infrastructure projects across North America. We are currently looking to grow and enhance our transit, rail control systems, structural, roadway, and tunneling practices and are seeking highly motivated and dynamic engineers.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• Perform a wide range of QA/QC activities for various civil engineering assignments utilizing EXP’s Corporate and Sector QA/QC programs.
• Strengthen and enhance EXP’s Quality Management practices, procedures, and standards.
• Perform design computations, oversee report, plan and specification development and sign and seal construction documents as necessary
• Work with other senior staff within Infrastructure & Transportation and other practices groups, as necessary, to execute project delivery
• Support Public Involvement activities and liaison with diverse project stakeholders to facilitate appropriate decisions in planning and design work
• Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for project pursuits as requested
• Assist in developing and maintaining client relationships as requested
• Industry participation in professional societies encouraged

What your experience looks like

• BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
• 8 years of progressively responsible relevant experience
• Licensed PE in the State of New York
• Ability to provide quality control over other’s work products including construction documents, special provisions, quantity and design calculations
• Knowledge of work related to delivering transportation projects
• Ability to work in a team environment and work both in the office and remotely in a hybrid work environment.
• Ability to mentor engineering staff
• Strong client relationships and the ability to participate in business development and proposal preparation is desired
• Strong network of professionals and the ability to assist in recruitment of other candidates

The pay range for this role is $150,000 to $200,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
