Job Title: Civil Transportation Engineer

Location: Manhattan, NY (with projects across New York)

Salary: $100,000 - $220,000

Position Overview: As a recruitment consultant, we are assisting our client in their search for a talented Civil Transportation Engineer to join their team in Manhattan. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and projects, from local roadways to state highways, while contributing to the growth and success of a dynamic firm.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and manage transportation infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, highways, and transit systems.
• Conduct site visits, surveys, and assessments to gather data and identify project requirements and constraints.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
• Utilize advanced software tools for traffic studies, analysis, and modeling to inform design decisions.
• Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance and approval.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout all phases of project development and implementation.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely and successful delivery.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license in the state of New York or ability to obtain licensure within six months of hire.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil transportation engineering, with a focus on design and project management.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, and traffic analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of transportation engineering principles, standards, and regulations.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.

Here’s what we would ideally like to see:

• NYS CPESC Certification
• NYS EIT Registration
• NYS PE Registration
• Experience with Hydro CAD (or similar) stormwater modeling software
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience with site development construction techniques (including stormwater, sewer, septic, and water system inspections, erosion control inspections, etc.)
